2023 (The Sixth) National Flame Retardant Material Industry Application and Technology Innovation Forum

From August 17 to August 19, 2023 (the 6th) National Flame Retardant Materials Industry Application and Technology Innovation Forum and the 1st Sino-Western Flame Retardant Materials Technology Symposium were held in Shanghai. More than 120 people from well-known university experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and upstream and downstream enterprises of the industrial chain in the field of flame retardant materials industry attended together.

The seminar coincided with the post epidemic economic recovery, global trade contraction and fierce market competition, and China's flame retardant industry has entered a critical period of structural reorganization and transformation. Environment-friendly, low-toxicity and high-efficiency, multi-functional composite flame retardants and flame retardant materials have become the focus of attention of the flame retardant industry.

At the event, the guests focused on the theme of high-quality development of the industry, and exchanged views on existing problems, development trends and technological innovations in the industry. Wang Yimin, Director of Science and Technology and Equipment Department of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and Wang Deyi, Professor of Higher Institute for Materials Research in Madrid, Spain, and other 24 guests made keynote speeches, shared cutting-edge technologies, showed the latest research results, and provided top intellectual support for the new development of flame-retardant materials and pointed out the way.

At present, the country accelerates the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy, focusing on China-Israel (Shanghai) Innovation Park, Shanghai Tsinghua International Innovation Center, Wuning Innovation Community, Haina Town Digital Transformation Demonstration Zone, to build the "China WU Digital" science and innovation layout. Among them, Wuning Innovation Community links 2 universities, 16 research institutes, nearly 100 platforms and nearly 1,000 science and technology enterprises along Wuning Road, and builds a multi-party cooperation platform for "government, industry, academia and research", which promotes innovation synergy, constructs an innovation highland, and drives upstream and downstream development of the industry by giving full play to the scientific research advantages of the universities and research institutes.

This activity is aimed at exerting the advantages of functional flame retardant engineering and technology research, and strengthening the upstream and downstream industrial linkage and cooperation of positive action. Flame-retardant materials are one of the most important materials related to public safety and the safety of people's lives and properties, and are widely used in the fields of home appliances, automobiles, rail transportation, aerospace, electrical and electronic, building materials, and so on, and they have become the most effective solution to the safety of new energy automobiles' "three electrics". Under the influence of "double carbon" strategy, the contradiction between traditional flame retardant materials and resources, environmental protection is becoming more and more prominent, and both "danger" and "opportunity" coexist. This meeting brings together the upstream and downstream of the industry to depict the blueprint for the development of the flame retardant materials industry.
