I. Product Introduction

Methyl octabromide, MOBE, chemically known as Tetrabromobisphenol A bis(dibromomethylpropyl ether), is an important variety of brominated flame retardants. It combines the characteristics of both aromatic and aliphatic bromine and is a high molecular weight organic flame retardant, widely used in the flame retardation of engineering plastics and epoxy resins.

III. Product Features

1. Effective flame retardant for olefinic resins, mainly used in polypropylene, polypropylene fibers, styrene-butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, etc., with significant flame retardant effects.

2. When processing polypropylene, it does not produce smoke, odor, or change the color of the material.


IV. Application

MOBE is widely utilized in the manufacturing of various engineering plastics and epoxy resins to enhance their fire resistance. It is also effectively employed in polypropylene, polypropylene fibers, styrene-butadiene rubber, and butadiene rubber to impart significant flame retardancy, ensuring safety standards in a range of industries including construction, automotive, electronics, and textiles.
